NOTICE OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE

GEORGE WEST INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Notice is hereby given that on the 18^th day of February 2010 the Board of Trustees of the George West Independent School District will hold a regular board meeting at 6:30 p.m., in the George West ISD Administration Building, 913 Houston Street, George West, Texas. The subjects to be discussed are listed on the agenda, which is attached to and made a part of this Notice.

Under the authority of Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Sub-Chapters D and E, the Board, during the course of the meeting covered by this notice, may enter into closed or executive session for the following reasons:

Private consultation with the board’s attorney.

Discussing purchase, exchange, lease, or value of real property.

Discussing negotiated contract for a prospective gift or donation.

Considering the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee or to hear a complaint against a public officer or employee.

Considering the deployment, or specific occasions for implementation, of security personnel or devices.

Considering discipline of a public school child, or complaint or charge against an employee by another employee.

Considering a matter that will necessarily reveal personally identifiable information about a public school student.

Discussing or deliberating on economic development negotiations.

Education Code

39.030(a)

To discuss or adopt individual assessment instruments or assessment instrument items

Should any final action, final decision, or final vote be required in the opinion of the School Board with regard to any matter considered in such closed session, then the final action, final decision, or final vote shall be either:

(a)

in the open meeting covered by the Notice upon the reconvening of the public meeting; or

(b)

at a subsequent public meeting of the School Board upon notice thereof; as the School Board shall determine.

On February 12, 2010 this Notice was emailed to news media who had previously requested such Notice and an original copy was posted on the bulletin board and on the front window of the School District Administration Building at 12:05 p.m. on said date.
