GEORGE WEST VS. THREE RIVERS
Just like anytime GW and TR gets together, there is going to be a large and loud crowd. Last night though, TR did not have much to bark about. The Longhorns jumped out on top of the Bulldogs early, forcing turnovers, getting big rebounds and finishing lay-ups and free throws. By the end of the first frame GW had raced out to 33-7 lead. To the Bulldogs credit, they did not quit, but the Horns were still playing just as hard working to increase the lead over their Live Oak rivals. The second half was more of the same…every Longhorn that got in the game played well. FINAL SCORE: GW 96 – TR 50

The kids did a great job responding to the challenge of bouncing back from a poor performance, knocking off a team that was undefeated in district, and playing extremely well in a rivalry game. GW is now 15-6 and 3-1 District 31AA play. At the moment GW is alone in first place with a 3-1 record. Refugio is 2-1 and was off last night, TR is also 2-1. Taft was knocked off by Bloomington last night and fell to 2-2, Bloomington and Skidmore-Tynan are 1-2 and Odem is 1-3. Friday George West will travel to Skidmore-Tynan to take on the Bobcats.
