GEORGE WEST VS. BISHOP
Congratulations to the GW Football team after their impressive win on Friday (70-33 over Hebbronville) to capture the Bi-District Championship! Round 2 is set vs. Cotulla Saturday at 2pm at Northside Stadium in San Antonio.
Early Saturday afternoon, the GW boys hosted the Bishop Badgers in a 2A pre district competition. The Longhorns were dominating early as they hustled out to a 22-7 lead after the first frame. >From then on the offensive production was steady but Bishop started to shoot lights out from behind the arc, nailing 5 three’s keeping the game close. This game was competitive as both teams hustled for every rebound and loose ball. George West is now 2-0 on the season.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 21, George West will host Orange Grove. There will only be three games tomorrow night starting at 5pm, JV girls, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys. The Boys should tip off around 7:15pm.
The GW Junior Varsity game versus Bishop proved to be an interesting contest. The Horns dug themselves into a deep hole early in the game because of foul trouble. Trying to play aggressive defense, the Horns were out of control, and were behind before the half. Generating a scoring spurt just before half, GW was able to tie the game before the buzzer (or air horn) at 21. The second half show to be much better for the Horns as they held Bishop to only 1 point in the 3rd quarter. GW JV record is 2-0.
